Podcast 89: Plan DS9 From Outer Space

B.S. happened. If you wanna get right into the Star Trek talk, skip ahead to 46:32. SPOILER ALERT, once again, we're not excited to talk DS9. I mean we get naked old ladies, sailboats and a bunch of Kira's old terrorist friends again. We may as well have had Greek new age musicians on the podcast because YAWN-ni.

So, okay, this particular podcast nearly broke records in length. No idea how that happened. As you will hear shortly, not that much was said about these episodes. Very weird. Must have been the Saturday afternoon recording time. Also -- this tends to happen when podcasts creep over 2 1/2 hours -- the end audio is mixed a bit screwy, causing the end theme music to blast louder than it ought to be. Don't let that discourage you from listening to all seven minutes of outtakes. Actually, those, like always, are very expendable.

Podcast breakdown:

0:00 -- nuqneH and some talk (military money, BYU football, spooky scary movies)
24:59 -- Viewer mail
46:32 -- "The Die is Cast"
1.12:31 -- "Explorers"
1.39:43 -- "Family Business"
1.53:24 -- "Shakaar"
2.12:36 -- Podcast awards and rankings
2.22:22 -- Next episode guesses
2.27:03 -- Qapla' and outtakes

One thing we neglected to mention -- apparently it has been mentioned a few times that Odo can't do faces. Seems like a face would be easier than a basket or something. Whatever.

Podcast 88: Get to Know Your Future Self

Fortunately, Skype handled things this week. Unfortunately, one of us was tired and on the verge of complete collapse. As a result there were more meandering conversations based on viewer mail than usual. Sometimes that's entertaining. In the meantime, SPOILER ALERT, these episodes weren't that bad at all.

Podcast breakdown:

0:00 -- nuqneH and some talk (horror movies, college days, Avengers trailer)
16:46 -- Viewer mail
32:41 -- "Visionary"
50:32 -- "Distant Voices"
1.04:24 -- "Through the Looking Glass"
1.22:13 -- "Improbable Cause"

This episode is obviously dedicated in loving memory to Steve Jobs (1955-2011), who quite seriously made this podcast possible.
